A thunderstorm advisory is in effect for the Guam International Airport Authority until 2 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport. Seek shelter if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.

COVID-19 Test Results: 122 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 122 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,434 specimens collected August 2, 2022. Fourteen (14) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 55,746 officially reported cases, 382 deaths, 1,311 cases in active isolation, and 54,053 not in active isolation.

JIC RELEASE NO. 1102 - 381st COVID-19-related Fatality Reported; COVID-19 Test Results: 123 New Cases, 25 Hospitalized; Additional COVID-19 Updates

381st COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 381st COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on August 1, 2022. The patient was a 96-year-old male, with no record of vaccination, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on August 1.

Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 293 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 293 new cases of COVID-19 from 3,567 specimens analyzed from tests administered July 30 – August 1, 2022:

  • August 1: 33 of 436 test positive for COVID-19

  • July 31: 150 of 1,492 test positive for COVID-19

  • July 30: 110 of 1,639 test positive for COVID-19

COVID-19 Test Results: 151 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 151 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,433 specimens collected July 28, 2022. Twelve (12) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 55,208 officially reported cases, 380 deaths, 871 cases in active isolation, and 53,957 not in active isolation.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm warning, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 3 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are occurring within 5 nautical miles of the airport.

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 94 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,194 specimens collected July 27, 2022. Twelve (12) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 55,057 officially reported cases, 380 deaths, 856 cases in active isolation, and 53,821 not in active isolation.

JIC RELEASE NO. 1098 - Three COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported; COVID-19 Test Results: 191 New Cases, 21 Hospitalized; Additional COVID-19 Updates

Three COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of three COVID-19-related fatalities:

  • The 378th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) on July 20, 2022. The patient was a 51-year-old male, fully vaccinated with one booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on July 20.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the National Earthquake Technical Assistance Program (NETAP), will host the “Safer, Stronger, Smarter: A Guide to Improving School Natural Hazard Safety” (FEMA P-1000) training virtually on Friday, August 5, 2022, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. (ChST).
