JIC Release No. 1014 - COVID-19 Test Results: 52 New Cases, 15 Hospitalized

COVID-19 Test Results: 52 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 52 new cases of COVID-19 from 604 specimens analyzed on April 6, 2022. Nine of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 47,514 officially reported cases, 352 deaths, 295 cases in active isolation, and 46,867 not in active isolation.

JIC Release No. 1013 - COVID-19 Test Results: 33 New Cases, 14 Hospitalized; Health Declaration Form No Longer Required Upon Entry to Guam

COVID-19 Test Results: 33 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 33 new cases of COVID-19 from 517 specimens analyzed on April 5, 2022. Nine of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 47,462 officially reported cases, 352 deaths, 285 cases in active isolation, and 46,825 not in active isolation.

Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of two COVID-19-related fatalities:

 
  • The 351st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City on March 31, 2022. The patient was a 66-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on March 16.

Heavy Rainfall Possible Over the Weekend; Be Alert for Additional Advisories

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office is monitoring a tropical disturbance, Invest Area 95W, nearly stationary south of Chuuk at this time. It is expected to head west-northwest toward Yap over the next few days. There remains high uncertainty on the expected movement and intensity but it is expected to strengthen as it moves toward Yap and the Philippine Sea, remaining south of Guam.

JIC RELEASE NO. 1011 - 350th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported; Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 49 New Cases, 12 Hospitalized

350th COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 350th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on April 1, 2022. The patient was a 57-year-old male, fully vaccinated without a booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on April 1.

Preliminary COVID-19 Test Results: Seven New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported a preliminary case count of seven new cases of COVID-19 from 131 specimens analyzed on April 2, 2022. To date, there have been a total of 47,337 officially reported cases, 349 deaths, 839 cases in active isolation, and 46,149 not in active isolation.
