All Clear Issued for Found Ordnance Reported

The All Clear was issued by officials at 1:20 p.m. (ChST) for the suspected found ordnance at the Harmon Villa Garden Apartments earlier today. The area resumed normal operations. Information received indicated that it was a training tool that was not an actual Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and it posed no threat to the community. All precautions were taken for the safety for the responders involved and the community.

The community is reminded to practice the “3Rs of Explosive Safety” when any potential UXO is encountered:
  • Recognize - when you may have encountered a munition and that munitions are dangerous.
  • Retreat - do not approach, touch, move, or disturb it, but carefully leave the area.
  • Report - call 911 and advise of what you saw and where you saw it.
