364th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 364th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City on June 2, 2022. The patient was a 76-year-old male, vaccinated with one booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on May 12. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 1061 - ​ COVID-19 Test Results: 81 New Cases, Nine Hospitalized; Incentives Offered for COVID-19 Vaccination Series Completion and Boosters

COVID-19 Test Results: 81 New Cases Reported 

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 81 new cases of COVID-19 from 989 specimens analyzed May 31, 2022. Eight of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 49,156 officially reported cases, 363 deaths, 309 cases in active isolation, and 48,484 not in active isolation.

Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 107 New Cases Reported 

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 107 new cases of COVID-19 from 2,283 specimens analyzed from tests administered May 27 – 30, 2022:

  • May 31: 19 of 643 test positive for COVID-19

  • May 30: Seven of 121 test positive for COVID-19

  • May 29: 34 of 642 test positive for COVID-19

363rd COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 363rd COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Regional Medical City on May 7, 2022. The patient was a 58-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on May 7.

Second Booster Dose Vaccination Clinics at Senior Citizens Centers Ongoing

Second doses of the COVID-19 booster are available to adults 50 years of age and older, or to individuals 12 years and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised, at Senior Citizens Centers across the island. All eligible individuals are encouraged to get their second booster shots. Bring your vaccination record card with you to the Senior Citizens Centers.

Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 362nd COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Regional Medical City on May 19, 2022. The patient was a 55-year-old male, fully vaccinated without a booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on May 20.

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) Division of Senior Citizens (DSC), in partnership with the Mayors’ Council of Guam, is now offering second doses of the COVID-19 booster to adults 50 years of age and older, or to individuals 12 years and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised, at Senior Citizens Centers across the island. All eligible individuals are encouraged to get their second booster shots. Please see the schedule below:
