Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 100 New Cases Reported November 8–14

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 100 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,418 specimens analyzed from tests administered November 6–13, 2022:

 
  • November 14: 6 of 160 test positive for COVID-19

  • November 13: 11 of 125 test positive for COVID-19

  • November 12: 6 of 128 test positive for COVID-19

Thunderstorm Advisory in Effect; Practice Caution

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued athunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 12 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport. Be alert and take precautions as required.

No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from Fiji Earthquakes

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the following earthquakes south of Fiji Islands:
 
  • Earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 that occurred south of the Fiji Islands, with a depth of 628.9 km, at 7:38 p.m. (ChST).
  • Earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 that occurred south of the Fiji Islands, with a depth of 665.3 km, at 7:51 p.m. (ChST).
  • Earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 that occurred south of the Fiji Islands, with a depth of 623.6 km, at 8:14 p.m. (ChST).

Thunderstorm Warning in Effect; Practice Caution

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm warning, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 7:30 p.m. this evening.  Thunderstorms are occurring within 5 nautical miles of the airport. Be alert and take precautions as required.

No Immediate Threat to Marianas Assessed from Reported North Korea Launch

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.

Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 104 New Cases Reported November 1–7

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 104 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,469 specimens analyzed from tests administered October 30 – November 6, 2022:

 
  • November 7: 4 of 142 test positive for COVID-19

  • November 6: 9 of 134 test positive for COVID-19

  • November 5: 19 of 165 test positive for COVID-19

  • November 4: 24 of 285 test positive for COVID-19
