JIC Recovery Release No. 19 - Green Waste Disposal Updates; GSWA Update; GPA Update; GWA Update; Do Not Wait to Clean

Green Waste Disposal Updates:

The Government of Guam’s green waste transition sites are open for residential green waste disposal. Each site is operational 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week. These sites will accept only green waste, vegetative waste, and yard trimmings. All other disaster debris including, but not limited to metallic waste, white goods, bulky household waste, household hazardous waste, and household trash will be REJECTED.

JIC Recovery Release No. 18 - President Biden Approves Governor Leon Guerrero’s Request for FEMA Individual Assistance

This morning President Biden approved Governor Lou Leon Guerrero’s request for Individual Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which provides grants for homeowners and renters like rental assistance and money for home repairs. FEMA inspectors will perform home by home assessments to initiate the process to provide direct relief to our people.

 

JIC Recovery Release No. 17 - DPW Update; GWA Update: TeleCom Update

DPW Update:

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance Construction Section (MCS) has been working pre-typhoon ensuring the roadways remain accessible for emergency responders and essential government workers. Work was focused at the following sites pre-storm, that have been prone to flooding and heavy vegetation foliage:

  • Polaris Outfall Southbound, Piti

  • Finile Drive, Hågat

  • RR Cruz Subdivison, Hågat

  • Barcinas Manel Channel and Culverts, Malesso’

JIC Recovery Release No. 16 - Fuel Update; Shelter Update; Port Authority of Guam Update; Guam Airport Update

The community is reminded that there is sufficient fuel. Additional stations are opening, as available. Information that is provided to the Joint Information Center is reported directly by fuel company officials. 

Mobil provided the following update, that as of 05/28/2023 at 5 p.m.,  twelve (12) service stations are open:

  • Mobil East Agana

  • Mobil Airport

  • Mobil Maite

  • Mobil Fatima

JIC Recovery Release No. 13 - Fuel Update; GWA Update; American Red Cross Supplies Unavailable at Village Mayors’ Offices

Mobil provided the following update, that the following service stations will be operational today, May 28:

Mobil (6 a.m. - 10 p.m.):

  • East Agana

  • Airport 

  • Maite

  • Liguan

  • Fatima

  • Yigo north

  • Yigo Perez Acres

  • Tamuning (Diesel Only)

 

The community is reminded to be courteous and orderly when lining up for fuel. 

JIC Recovery Release No. 10 - Additional Fuel Stations Prepared to Open Tomorrow

There is an adequate supply of fuel for the island. Fuel companies, Mobil and Shell IP&E, are working together to get more stations online by tomorrow. The following service stations will be open Sunday, May 28:

 

Mobil (6 a.m. - 10 p.m.):

  • East Agana

  • Airport

  • Maite

  • Liguan

 

Shell IP&E (8 a.m. - 10 p.m.):

  • Hagatna

  • Harmon

  • MicroMall Intersection

  • NCS
