Watch for Emergency Warning Signs for COVID-19
DON’T WAIT UNTIL IT’S TOO LATE. Look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19 and seek emergency medical care immediately or call 911 if you are experiencing any of the following warning signs of COVID-19:
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has issued a special weather statement for Guam. A developing tropical disturbance is centered north of Chuuk near 10 degrees north latitude and 154 degrees east longitude, approximately 660 miles east-southeast of Guam. This disturbance is expected to strengthen as it heads near or through the Marianas by the end of this week.
Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified of two (2) additional COVID-related fatalities reported last week and over the weekend:

In accordance with the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) guidance, individuals who are sick are advised to:
Stay home, except to seek medical care. Call ahead before visiting the clinic/doctor.
Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, and shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headaches, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea and/or diarrhea.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 6 p.m. this evening. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.
Be alert and take precautions as required; these storms have been producing occasional lightning. If lightning is seen or thunder is heard, remain indoors.

The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified of three (3) additional COVID-related fatalities reported on September 16, 2021:
The 172nd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on September 15, 2021. The patient was a 69-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions.
