No Tsunami Threat from Fiji Earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.2, at 10:19 AM (ChST). The earthquake was reported at Latitude 18.17S and Longitude 178.111W with a depth of 563.4km in the Fiji Region.

Tropical Depression 23W Strengthens

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued their second advisory on Tropical Depression 23W.  A typhoon watch has been issued for Agrihan, Pagan and Alamagan islands, which are located north of Saipan.

Tropical Depression Forms East of Guam

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam announced the formation of a tropical depression, 23W, located about 710 miles east of Guam.  There are no watches or warnings issued at this time.  However, NWS and GHS/OCD will continue to monitor the progress of TD 23W. 

NWS Advisories in Effect

high surf advisory remains in effect for the Marianas until 5:00am (ChST) Monday morning.
A small craft advisory is in effect for the Marianas until 5:00am (ChST) Saturday morning.
