The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office is monitoring for a series of possible disturbances that could bring heavy rain to Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan from Monday, August 15 to Friday, August 19, 2022.
NWS provided a hydrologic outlook for Guam. Sufficient heavy rain could cause urban and small stream flooding. Rainfall amounts of up to six (6) inches are possible, although many areas will get less.
Residents and visitors of the Marianas are advised to closely monitor this developing situation and stay up to date with the latest for any additional advisories next week. Those living in flood-prone areas should keep aware of conditions in the event of any heavy showers over the island; clear drainage areas and unblock clogged storm drains in your area to minimize flooding and watch for any additional advisories.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with NWS, will continue to monitor all systems in the region and provide updates.
