Since December of 2015, DHS has included the NTAS Bulletin, which provides information to the public. It describes broader, more general trends and current developments regarding threats of terrorism. The NTAS features an advisory system that consists of three types: Bulletin, Elevated Alert and Imminent Alert, with the Bulletin being the lowest form of advisory. “The current NTAS bulletin provides situational awareness of the Iran-related terrorism threat to the U.S. Homeland,” stated Tim Aguon, Homeland Security Advisor. “The bulletin does not indicate a specific, credible threat but it does highlight the potential for cyber-attacks. We recognize the importance of protecting our critical infrastructure and continue to work with all partners to ensure their cyber networks are secure. We remind the community to take extra measures to bolster their cyber hygiene by changing passwords regularly, updating software when needed, and reporting any suspicious activity to authorities.”
