The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in an official statement made on Saturday, April 16, 2022 (ChST), reported that there was no immediate threat from a missile launch out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
GHS/OCD would like to retract the statement until further clarification is made. At this time, there is no indication a launch was detected out of the DPRK.
“GHS/OCD is working to ensure all information is properly received before making any notices of this magnitude but can confirm there are no immediate threats assessed for the Marianas and sends apologies to all concerned,” said Guam Homeland Security Advisor, Samantha Brennan. “This will be the only statement issued until additional information is received.”
