The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a hydrologic outlook for the Marianas.
A monsoon trough approaching from the south this weekend may bring substantial rainfall for the Marianas. Three to six inches of rain is expected between Tuesday and Thursday. Showers are expected as early as Sunday and Monday.
Localized flooding will be possible in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Residents and visitors are advised to take precautionary actions before heavy rainfall occurs by clearing drainage areas and un-blocking clogged storm drains in your area to minimize the chance of flooding.
If outdoor activities are planned for next week, have an alternative plan in place.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) advise all residents and visitors to be alert for additional advisories regarding flooding or hazardous seas and be prepared to take action if warranted.
