Press Release - Guam to Move to COR 2 at 500pm Today

Acting Governor Josh Tenorio and Rear Admiral Brent De Vore will place Guam and the respective military bases in Condition of Readiness 2 at 5:00pm due to the increased speed of Tropical Storm Man-Yi. At COR 2 schools and non-essential government offices will be closed. Tropical Storm Man-Yi is projected to impact early Wednesday through Wednesday evening.

At 1:00 p.m. ChST, Tropical Storm Man-Yi is 265 miles East of Guam, moving West toward Guam at 18 mph with sustained winds at 45mph.

Guam still has active Tropical Storm WarningSmall Craft Advisory, and Rip Current Statement in effect.

Now is the time to prepare for strong tropical storm conditions according to your typhoon disaster plan specific to your home or business.

It is important to actively listen for forthcoming information from your local National Weather Service office and emergency management agency.
