GDOL Recruiting More Workers for GUAM STRONG Initiative
30 Positions to be Filled Through NDWG Program
The GUAM STRONG Initiative, a project to help repair households impacted by Typhoon Mawar, is now recruiting workers through the National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWG) Program.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has the following advisories in effect:
A high surf advisory remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan until 6 a.m. Monday along west, north and east facing reefs. Large breaking waves of 10 to 14 feet are expected in the surf zone. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous conditions.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) along with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), continue to receive reports of suspicious messages on social media of purported businesses seeking Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Most recently, reports include a purported private business on social media claiming to establish a Guam driver’s license for the consumer, in exchange for a large fee. Not all calls or messages from unusual senders should be regarded as suspect.

A high surf advisory remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday along north facing reefs. Large breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet, dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, and localized beach erosion are expected.
