No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from Vanuatu Earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 that occurred 23 km WNW of Port-Olry, Vanuatu, with a depth of 27.7 km, at 10:32 p.m. (ChST).

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands at this time.

This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.
