The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.2 that struck 278 km SE of Kodiak, Alaska at a depth of 10.0 km at 7:31 p.m. (ChST).
As reported by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam or the Marianas from the earthquake.
