JIC RELEASE NO. 69 - Fifth COVID-19 Related Fatality;Three Test Positive for COVID-19 on Guam, 17 More Recover

The Joint Information Center was notified that at approximately 6:55 p.m. this evening, a 79-year-old woman with COVID-19 passed away at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH). The woman was initially admitted to GMH on April 10, 2020 and had a history of diabetes, hypertension, and coronary artery disease. The patient had no travel history.
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 68 - Profiles of Earlier Confirmed Cases; Joint Information Center WhatsApp Information Service Available

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) tested 38 individuals for COVID-19 on Friday, April 10, 2020 with conclusive results. Zero tested positive through DPHSS and 38 tested negative for SARS-CoV-2. Two additional test results were positive through the Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS) on April 10, as reported at a media briefing and JIC Release No. 66. Updated results will be provided later this evening once today’s test results are finalized. There will be no tests run on Sunday, April 12, 2020. Tests will resume on Monday, April 13, 2020. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 66 - Profiles of Earlier Confirmed Cases; Road Closure Traffic Flow Plan in Effect Saturday; GHURA Awarded $2.6M in CARES Act Funding

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) tested 34 individuals for COVID-19 on Thursday, April 9, 2020 with conclusive results. Three tested positive through DPHSS and 31 tested negative for SARS-CoV-2. Two additional cases have been confirmed through Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS). Updated results will be provided later this evening once today’s test results are finalized.
   

Unidentified Object Likely Connected to Scheduled Test Launch from China; No Threat to the Marianas

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) and the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC) continue to monitor events in the region, including widely circulated videos of a fiery object over the Marianas sky this evening. In concert with federal partners, GHS/OCD and MRFC identified that the object was likely connected to a scheduled satellite test launch from China.
