High Risk of Rip Current until early Tuesday Morning

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a Rip Current Statement in effect for East facing reefs of Guam until 600am Tuesday morning.

Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore and into deep water

The offices of Guam Homeland Security/Civil Defense remind residents:
  • Swim near a lifeguard.
  • If caught in a rip current, relax and float.
  • Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
  • If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
