The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), will host two Incident Command System (ICS) training opportunities at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights. The courses follow:
- Monday, August 19 – Wednesday, August 21, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
- Thursday, August 22 – Friday, August 23, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System for Complex Incidents
ICS-300 and ICS-400 provide training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System. These comprehensive courses expand upon information covered in the ICS-100 and ICS-200 courses. Topics include describing how the National Incident Management System Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents, the incident/event management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed by ICS, the incident management process on a simulated expanding incident, and developing an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.
Attendees for the courses include emergency management personnel and partners from the government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations and senior personnel who may assume a supervisory role in expanding emergency incidents and who are expected to perform in a management capacity at an incident or event.
